Fall as a 1st Year MBA

Written by Sarah DiPietro

Michigan State University has a beautiful campus, but in particular, the fall is spectacular. As a first year MBA student, it’s amazing to watch the campus transition. There will always be a first morning where you notice the cool temperature on your skin, almost a relief from the hot summer days. You’ll glance up at the trees and notice the leaves starting to have a tint of yellow and red. Breathing in the fresh, crisp air, it’ll be a moment of relaxation before you kick off the busy day of class, group projects, and studying. Eventually, in walking to the football game, you’ll make a trail in the leaves that have fallen and wrap your scarf tighter around you, staring at the maze of yellow, red, and orange that stretches the entire campus.

There are so many fun things happening in the fall in Michigan! There are apple orchards and cider mills to get fresh cider and donuts, and hop on a hayride. Towards Halloween, there are haunted houses, and MBA Association events. Of course, there is pumpkin everything- coffee, ice cream, bread, donuts, cookies, and more. The cool weather and changing colors provides the perfect landscape as you change as a person as well. During this time, you are in the first module, and just adjusting to your team, your classes, diving into the internship search, and working hard! It’s a great time to be an MBA student at Michigan State University!
